When you apply, you will be requested to fill out an Applicant Pre – Screen Questionnaire. After the Applicant PSQ, you will be scheduled to attend Civil Service testing if you meet the minimum qualifications to proceed. If you pass Civil Service Testing, you will be invited into the MNPD’s Background Investigation program to complete a Personal History Statement
After your Background Investigator has completed your Background Investigation, you will be scheduled for a Structured Oral Interview. Once your file is completed, it is turned into the Background Investigative Supervisors where a thorough review is completed.
If you meet the minimum qualifications to be hired by the Metro Nashville Police Department, you will be given a conditional offer of employment. After you receive a conditional offer of employment, you will be required to complete a Psychological Assessment, Medical Examination and Drug Screen and a CVSA (Computer Voice Stress Analysis) Test. If you pass all of these tests, you will be given a Final Offer of Employment. If you accept, you will either be placed into a Pre – Academy Assignment (Until the next class begins) or you will be hired to start directly at the MNPD Training Academy!
